Nieuwenhof Stables rider Gilles Thomas travelled to CSI 4* Moerzeke last weekend for the very first 'Equestrian Cup' on the beautiful grounds of Sea Coast Stables. Already on Thursday, Luna van het Dennehof (Prince van de Wolfsakker x Quida de Revel)jumped to a clear round in a 1.50m class. Z. At the Belgian National Festival, Ermitage Kalone (Catoki x Kannan) was celebrating with a second place in the 1.50m class. That same day, Puskas de Kalvarie (Sea Coast Don't Touch Tiji Hero x For Pleasure) jumped to seventh place in the 1.45m class.  A day later, he also stayed clear and there was 11th place for Gilles and the eight-year-old gelding. On Saturday, Ermitage once again showed his amazing qualities in front of the audience in Moerzeke. He obviously stayed clear and jumped to place five in the 1.50m class. Ermitage Kalone immediately got the right competition rhythm and did not touch a fence in Moerzeke either.

A special mention also goes to the seven-year-old horses Qannando B.&V. (Kannan x Emerald) and Lavanoche T&L Z (Lavallino ter Klomp x Bentley vd Heffinck), who impressed on the grass arena in Moerzeke. Qannando B.&V made no mistakes during three performances and jumped to third place in the final test for the seven-year-olds. Lavanoche T&L Z won that final class for seven-year-olds at a height of 1.40m.
