Riesling van ’t Roosakker jumps to second place in the Opglabbeek Grand Prix – Ermitage Kalone gets into race rhythm
After exotic destinations such as Mexico City and Miami Beach, Gilles was back in action close to home last weekend. Plus Belle Van T&L, Happy Landais, Riesling Van T Roosakker, Saladin ‘S’ and … Ermitage Kalone were all loaded onto the lorry.
After a few months of well-deserved rest … Sentower Park proved to be the ideal place to gradually get back into the competition rhythm. Ermitage Kalone competed on Thursday and Saturday in a 1.35m class, leaving all the bars in place on both occasions. Building up slowly to peak later in the season.
The nine-year-old stallion Riesling van T Roosakker is also making progress. A few weeks ago, Marc Kluskens’ home-bred horse secured fifth place in the 1.50m Grand Prix in Lier. On Sunday, he finished second in the Grand Prix jump-off!
Saladin ‘S’ remained clear in all three of his appearances. His jump-off on Sunday in the final for seven- and eight-year-old horses at a height of 1.40m secured him the victory. Happy Landais also secured second place in a 1.45m class. The son of Andiamo Semilly had already jumped to thirteenth place on Friday. Plus Belle van T&L finished sixth in a 1.40m class on that day.
