Gilles Thomas and Ermitage Kalone to individual final at OS Paris
With a nice clear round, Gilles Thomas and 10-year-old stallion Ermitage Kalone secured a place in the individual final at the Paris Olympics. The duo is assured of a place among the top 30 combinations tomorrow. The final starts Tuesday, August 6, at 10am. Gilles will start as the fifteenth rider.
Gilles at Sporza:
"My horse is not the fastest horse, so I chose the clear round. Of course, that's the most difficult because if you make a mistake then it's over. But I felt Ermitage Kalone jumped very well, so I went for it. We made as little effort as possible in the last two days. I didn't ride this morning either, something I normally always do. During the warm-up he bucked several times and I immediately thought he was back and could also be in top form."
