Ermitage Kalone remains the undisputed favourite among BWP breeders. For the third year running, he tops the list of sires with the most registered foals, confirming his enormous influence within Belgian breeding.

For the third year in a row, Ermitage Kalone is number one among BWP breeders. The BWP annual report shows that the BWP Ambassador once again had the most foals registered with the studbook in 2025. Last year, 131 foals by Ermitage Kalone were registered. A year earlier, the figure was 204, and in 2023 it was 156. In total, the stallion currently has 815 registered offspring with the BWP. This figure relates exclusively to foals that are actually registered with the BWP studbook.

Last weekend, Ermitage Kalone jumped the Aachen Grand Prix for the first time in his career. Altough te final result was not what Gilles hoped, Ermitage showed nice things in the Aachenr Soers. 

For Riesling van ’t Roosakker, too, CHIO Aachen 2026 was his very first introduction to the impressive surroundings of Aachen. He was completely unfazed and jumped to fifth place in Saturday’s 1.50m class. The future looks promising for this nine-year-old approved stallion.

Gilles will be competing in Rome next weekend alongside Thibeau Spits, Emilie Conter and Nicola Philippaerts in the Nations Cup.
