Ermitage Kalone and Gilles Thomas were in absolutely top form at the CSIO 5* La Baule. In the Nations Cup, they made not a single jumping fault across the two rounds. Team Belgium jumped their way to fifth place. In Sunday’s thrilling Grand Prix, Ermitage Kalone and Gilles once again produced a clear round in the first round. In the jump-off, for which seven pairs qualified, there was a single fault, resulting in sixth place. Ermitage Kalone is fully back on form and on track, which bodes well for the important weeks that are fast approaching.

The stallion Riesling Van T Roosakker also put in some fine performances in the French seaside resort. Thanks to clear rounds, Gilles and Riesling secured top-ten placings twice in two 1.50m classes. On Thursday they finished ninth, followed by seventh place on Saturday.
