CSIO5* La Baule 2025
A weekend of mixed feelings. That's the perfect summary of CSIO5* La Baule 2025. On Thursday, Gilles jumped to seventh place in the 1.45m class with Chuck Marienshof Z. The grey son of Colestus out of an Emerald dam proved that he had brought his good form from Kronenberg a week earlier to the French seaside resort. He jumped to seventh place again on Friday.
Qiara de Kalvarie showed that she can hold her own at 5*-1.50m level. In Saturday's main class, she cleared all the fences neatly. Unfortunately, a minimal time penalty kept her out of the jump-off.
Ermitage Kalone showed his absolute class in the two rounds of the Nations Cup.
In the first round, he delivered a demonstration. In round two, unfortunately, that one mistake occurred. It earned the Belgian team second place, behind the Irish team, which remained faultless in the second round.
In Sunday's fairly tough GP, there were two slight but unusual jumping mistakes by Ermitage Kalone and Gilles.
