Merry Christmas

As we only have a few days left in 2022 we would like to wish you all a merry Christmas.

The end of the year also makes it a perfect time to reflect on some highlights over the past few months.

End of September Gilles was part of the Belgium jumping team that won the nations cup final in Barcelona. Together with Calleryama, he delivered a clear round on the final day which contributed to the win and the ticket for the Olympics in Paris 2024. Feromas joined them on the journey to Barcelona and got placed in all his classes.

In October Gilles got the chance to start his indoor season at the very first worldcup of the European league with Luna van het Dennehof and Feromas van Beek Z . Not having the result he was hoping for in the first World Cup in Oslo, he took both horses to Helsinki for the second leg on this Scandinavian tour. With both horses jumping good rounds over the weekend, coming back with his first World Cup points after a 5th place, Gilles is motivated for the rest of the indoor season. With his first World Cup points, Gilles got a last minute invitation for Stuttgart. His third worldcup of the season. Feromas van Beek Z jumped 2 clear rounds in the 150-155 qualification classes, which qualified him for the German Masters. Luna van het Dennehof jumped an amazing round, but 1 unlucky fault kept them out of the jump off. As luck was not on their side, also the World Cup was not their best performance of the year. From Stuttgart we go to Prague, where also this year, Gilles started as an individual. Calleryama delivered 2 clear rounds, but the attention goes to Valkenswaard united who claim 2nd place in the Super cup team competition on Sunday (they already won the semi final on Friday). It has been an honor to be able to compete next to team mates as John Whitaker, Andre Thieme and Marcus Ehning. And it’s with happiness we can say that Gilles will be part of the valkenswaard united team again next year. EquiSeine has been an amazing show for Gilles in 2021, so it was back on his show programm in 2022. A week with boys as he took his 3 stallions there, Feromas van Beek Z, Ermitage Kalone and Elfra van Beek. With all jumping very promising rounds, we really look forward to the 2023 season. Feromas once again cleared his 2 classes and got 2nd in the 150 qualifier and 6th in the 4* Grand Prix. After his 3rd place in his first ever Rolex Grand Slam Grand Prix in Calgary in september, Gilles was more than motivated to start in Geneva. Calleryama jumped a clear round in the first 160 qualifier and with that result Gilles got qualified for the Grand Prix on Sunday. With another clear round on Sunday, they got their ticket for the jump off. (A jump off that will go into the books as a thriller!!) after another amazing clear jump off, Gilles took the lead for a while. But with some amazing rides from Ward McLain, home favorit Martin Fuchs and Shane Sweetnam, Gilles and Calleryama placed 4th.

After 2 years of absence we also really look forward to the 40st edition of jumping mechelen. Gilles will ride Calleryama, Luna vh Dennehof and Feromas van Beek Z in the 5* competition. Ermitage Kalone will make his 5* debut in the sires of the world on Tuesday evening, while Comdero van Beek Z will take the ‘belgian indoor championship’ on him on Monday evening. Gilles will also ride Qannando in the 6 years old stallions. We also look forward to the rounds of Miu Miu van overis and J. Comghorla van Beek under the saddle of Sasha Beghuin in the youth classes, and Ceasar will be ridden by Maverick van Lent in the 2* competition.
