Nieuwenhof horses/stallions shine in Lier
Gilles Thomas and Ines Van Dijck travelled to the Azelhof in Lier last weekend. Luna van het Dennehof got back into competition rhythm and jumped clear twice. Plus Belle van T&L jumped her way to tenth place in the 1.45m class. The nine-year-old BWP stallion Riesling van ’t Roosakker jumped to an impressive fifth place in Sunday’s Grand Prix. He produced nothing but clear rounds in Lier. This had already earned him fifth place the day before in a 1.45m class.
In the class for eight-year-old horses, Scotch van het Dennehof competed three times. The son of Ducati van Schuttershof out of Luna van het Dennehof (Prince van de Wolfsakker x Quidam de Revel) jumped clear twice. On Saturday, he won the final at a height of 1.40m! His contemporary and fellow stud stallion, Saladin ‘S’, also competed three times in Lier. The son of Ducati van Schuttershof remained clear-round on all three occasions; in the final, however, he made a mistake in the jump-off, resulting in a fourteenth-place finish.
Ines Van Dijck loaded three horses onto the lorry. She competed three times with Heloise de Creans. The nine-year-old mare by Rock ’n Roll Semilly did not knock a single bar in her three appearances. The eight-year-old Silver van ’t Keikelhof produced some fine rounds. The daughter of Cornet Obolensky jumped clear on the opening day and repeated that feat in the basic course of the 1.40m class on Sunday. In the jump-off, she made that one mistake. The returning Toulon daughter Judyan T van het Herdershof also produced two fine clear rounds.
