Happy Landais jumps to second place in the Wuustwezel Grand Prix
Gilles Thomas and Happy Landais, the son of Andiamo Semilly, came very close last Sunday at the CSI3* in Wuustwezel. However, German rider Hannes Ahlmann, riding Madness 15, was just a fraction of a second faster in the 1.55m Grand Prix. This second-place finish confirms the stallion’s improving form, having also secured fourth place in a 1.50m class two days earlier.
The pair had also taken second place in the GP3* in Lier in early May, and in the meantime the stallion has also shown great promise at the highest level in Aachen and Rome.
Saladin S also travelled to Wuustwezel. He finished tenth in the class for seven- and eight-year-old horses.
Gilles is heading to Monaco this week with Luna van het Dennehof and Qiara De Kalvarie. The following week, the 4* event in Valkenswaard is on the programme, after which he will travel on to the Global Champions Tour in Riesenbeck.
