Only two combinations out of seven jump-off contenders remained clear in the 5* GCT GP of Shanghai. Gilles and 13-year-old Luna van het Dennehof (Prince van de Wolfsakker x Quidam de Revel) and Edwina Tops Alexander with Fellow Castlefield (by Je ‘t Aime Flamenco). With the breeding product of Marc Van Dyck and Patrick De Muynck, Gilles was no less than five seconds faster than Edwina Tops-Alexander in the jump-off and rode sovereignly to victory. 

Victory in this 5* CGT GP is an important boost for the rest of the outdoor season.  Next weekend, Gilles is competing in Eindhoven. The following week, the GCT of Madrid is on the agenda.
